For any northern Kentucky APRN who has wished there was an easier way to visit their legislators -- the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce has provided the perfect answer!
NKY Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual "NKY UNITED" event this Thursday, June 2, 2022. Members of the Kentucky General Assembly will be in Covington and several legislative committees will be meeting at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.
As described on the NKY Chamber website, "NKY UNITED" is designed to "... thank state lawmakers for their support, to showcase Northern Kentucky’s success, and promote new initiatives to enhance our region’s economic progress and contribution to the Commonwealth.
The event will be held in conjunction with several Interim Joint Committee meetings of the Kentucky General Assembly across the NKY region. These meetings are open to the public and free to attend."
This gives area APRNs the opportunity to conveniently attend key committee meetings and introduce themselves to their local lawmakers.
The point is for APRNs to be present and in front of legislators EVERY TIME POSSIBLE. Committee meeting during the interim are designed for information gathering on issues and opportunities will arise before and after the meeting for nurses to introduce themselves to their legislators and start the important process of building a friendly relationship.
