The American Association of Nurse Practitioners honors two people from each state for outstanding contributions to the profession and advocacy efforts on behalf of Nurse Practitioners. Recently, KANPNM members Jessica Estes and Carol Darwin were announced as Kentucky's most inductees into this illustrious group.
Jessica Estes was honored by AANP with the NP State Award for Excellence. The NP State Award for Excellence is given annually to an individual NP in each state who has demonstrated excellence in NP clinical practice.
Carol Darwin was chosen as AANP's Advocate State Award for Excellence. The Advocate State Award for Excellence is given annually to an individual in each state who has made a significant contribution toward increasing awareness and recognition of NPs.
